Finalist Detail 2021

Lakshmi Manjunath

  • Bangalore
  • A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.
  • I consider myself a simple, straight forward person who is confident, ambitious, determined and hardworking. I try my best to do justice to the numerous roles I play on a daily basis: mother, wife, daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, friend and many more among family, friends and profession. We women have great inner strength to rise to any occasion, if need arises. I believe life is a process of constant learning. An open and focused mind to learn, adapt and succeed will take you to great places.

  • Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
  • From being an overweight teenager who was slightly awkward and shy, to taking part in the prestigious Mrs. India Queen of Substance, I have come a long way. My personal achievement is giving birth to my beautiful daughter and hopefully being an excellent mother. As a lawyer and a CS, the opportunity to interact with people of varied backgrounds and impact so many lives and financial decisions gives me tremendous satisfaction.

  • Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
  • True beauty is when you are able to touch another person’s life in a way that you are remembered for your kindness and good deeds. True beauty is when you have empathy and the willingness to internalize and correct yourself when in the wrong. Of course, being pleasant and presentable has its perks. A beautiful smile and a pure heart define true beauty.

  • What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
  • When a family is filled with love, respect, are able to be have an open non – judgmental conversation, eat healthy, laugh and have fun together, are grateful about what they have, and are smiling and glad to come home after a long day, it constitutes a complete, healthy and a happy family. I am grateful to say I am blessed with one.

  • What is your favorite Idea of Holidaying?
  • A relaxing holiday to a beautiful destination rich in history and culture is always my first choice. Of course, good company, good stay and good food makes it even better ????. There are times when I completely plan and schedule everything from what to wear and where to visit. Recently I went on an unplanned vacation and surprisingly I loved the experience.

  • Why you are participating in Mrs India Earth?
  • I love to push myself out of my comfort zone. I look for ways where I can make a difference and also learn along the way. Mrs. India Queen of Substance is a great platform to be recognized and to get a forum to make a positive impact on the lives of others and hopefully be the voice of change especially for women and girls looking for a representation. Being always surrounded by books and clients, participating in this contest is definitely stepping out of comfort zone, but I know I have made the right choice.

  • What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
  • While my country is growing leaps and bounds and definitely steering in the right direction, couple of issues that really bothers me are about women’s safety and the importance of awareness and education amongst women and girls. A country can only be truly successful if half of its population, that is the women, feel safe and empowered to do what they want to do and to make a difference to their families and communities.

  • The Quote or saying that encourages you?
  • “Making your mark on the world is hard. If it were easy, everybody would do it. But it’s not. It takes patience, it takes commitment, and it comes with plenty of failures along the way. The real test is not whether you avoid this failure, because you won’t. It’s whether you let it harden or shame you into inaction, or whether you learn from it; whether you choose to persevere.” – Former US President Barack Obama This quote really motivates me. If you desire and want to achieve something, preparation with focus and perseverance can really take you places. Add in luck and you can be unstoppable.

  • What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
  • Spirit of encouraging and appreciating others, accepting a win or a loss with equal grace and acceptance is true sportsmanship.

  • If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
  • Given this wonderful opportunity, I will ensure that it is used in a way which motivates women, brings awareness to women rights, men’s responsibility towards women, children’s education and women safety. This forum will also be a great platform to bring awareness on climate change and sustainable use and reuse of available resources.
