  • A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.
  • I am one in 7.9 billion. I hope that the identity I present in this world as this unique someone does justice to the privilege of being alive. I wear a number of hats every day that plays to my strengths. The purpose that has been consistent all my life is the desire be a catalyst of change. I have published two books, one an anthology of my poems and the other an attempt to lay out a blue print for Innovation in Technology. My papers are referenced in books, papers, and PhD thesis worldwide. Academically, I have a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering and a MBA. I am a PhD student. I work as a Product Delivery Manager in the Technology Services division of an international FMCG company. I am a believer of an egalitarian world, a follower of the ideologies of Periyar. I dream of a world where birth identities and choices do not define or limit one’s opportunities. I am the ever smiling gentle and easy-going woman in personal life but my choices are not always conventional and I can be combative when it is about ideologies that I believe in. There is no happy medium.

  • Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
  • I follow my heart. All my choices in life have been about being true to the purpose in life that I identify with – being a catalyst of change.

  • Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
  • True beauty is about a presence. When someone’s presence is inspiring, they look beautiful. It’s reductive to make it about physical attributes. I don’t judge a person by the way they look. It is about the way someone makes you feel.

  • What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
  • We live in a heteronormative world and the social constructs are not always fair to everyone. I recognize my privilege of not having to defy this norm. I am in a stable, happy marriage with two children and that makes life a lot easier, but I hope for a world that is not as limited about what constitutes a family. The parameters that determine a complete, healthy, and happy family are beyond such constructs. When individuals work together with a collective purpose of becoming better individuals, have a duty of care, all the while acknowledging the personal pursuits of happiness and freedom to support attaining their full potential for living their purpose, the family unit is complete. My goals for my children are the same. I am agnostic of what defines a family.

  • What is your favorite Idea of Holidaying?
  • Holidays are about connections. I choose the place based on my goals – connecting with our past, connecting with the future, or connecting with people.

  • Why you are participating in Mrs India Earth?
  • I don’t believe in absolutes. We can contribute better if we align and adapt. This platform offers access. This access is agnostic of the opportunities it can crack open. A national pageant is a powerful platform. Today’s world is open with blurred borders. Platforms like this offer a better view and access. I considered this my moment to step into the light. There was a pull from the fashion industry before, but I had other priorities then. I felt that it was finally time.

  • What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
  • The hierarchies and classes that create different worlds. Hamurabhi divided the people as Superiors, Commoners, and Slaves with the women treated as an inferior within each category. This continues in different formats even now. Bigotry in various forms and the benevolent patriarchy that keeps the genders segregated in the name of culture upholds this hierarchy. This inequality that makes life a struggle for the majority bothers me.

  • The Quote or saying that encourages you?
  • If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run - Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it

  • What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
  • Giving one’s all for a goal and then accepting any outcome with grace

  • If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
  • I would like to use the platform as a force multiplier to make a difference.
