  • A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.
  • I'm 48 years old married to my college sweetheart Mr Anil Kakade for the last 28 years have two beautiful kids my son Nikhil 27 & daughter Nishka 24. Was born in Bhopal did my schooling in Nainital & now based in the Oxford of the east Pune. A loving wife, doting mother, loyal friend, passionate animal enthusiast, fitness freak, adventure junkie, global traveler, avid reader are the ways I'd best describe myself. Strongly believe we are only given one life so should embrace it & lead it to the best of our ability constantly learn & evolve with the times. I'm competitive & love to set challenges for myself. Give me wings & I will fly. Professionally i'm a long distance runner, motivational speaker & goodwill ambassador for Adventures Beyond Barriers an NGO that facilitates differently abled people to experience sporting events like a normal person ex running a marathon, trekking, cycling etc

  • Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
  • I'm a multiple National Limca Record holder Maximum hours on a treadmill 171.2km in 25 hours 1st Indian to complete the 4 Desert Challenge Most Desert Ultra marathons run by an Indian between 2010-2012 Representing India on a global platform & achieving a Guinness World Record in 2016 for running a distance of 6000 kms across India along the Golden Quadrilateral highway that connects the 4 major metros Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata & Chennai in 193 days 1 hr & 9 minutes the only Indian to have accomplished this feat. Being nominated for the First Women Achievers & Awards being organized by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India.

  • Define the true beauty.
  • Beauty is like a rainbow that has myriad hues. For me true beauty is not the face i see reflected in the mirror every morning but the value i place on myself as a human being. A kind deed, a smile on ones lips, a whole hearted laugh, a loving heart is the essence of true beauty.

  • What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
  • The key to a complete happy & healthy family is linked to many factors. Unconditional love for each other. Respect for each other as unique individuals. A shoulder to cry on in times of success & failure. Communication & the ability to express oneself without the fear of being judged.

  • What is your favourite Idea of Holidaying?
  • Holidaying for me is very special as it's when I get to spend quality time with the family & bond without the pressures & intrusions of everyday life. Travel is the best tool to broaden ones horizons & outlook on life. My family are all major history buffs so any place that has ancient history & civilization would rank as top choice for a holiday destination. Turkey, Vietnam, Cambodia & Greece to name a few recent amazing family holidays we've had.

  • Why you are participating in Mrs India Earth?
  • I'm unconventional & firmly believe in the adage that age is relative & just a number. Over the years I've kept reinventing myself and donned many hats homemaker, career woman worked in the corporate sector, entrepreneur, athlete, animal activist. All these roles have been diametrically different yet I've learnt something from each one that has shaped me into the person i am today. For me Mrs India Earth is that platform to explore another facet of my personality & be a role model to other women.

  • What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
  • One thing that really bothers me is that even after 70 years of Independence we fail to identify ourselves as INDIANS. We still go with classifications of Marathi, Punjabi, Bihari, Gujarati I personally feel this is the root cause of all communal disharmony.

  • The Quote or saying that encourages you?
  • To dream anything you want to dream that is the beauty of the human mind. To do anything you want to do that is the strength of the human will. To trust yourself, to test your limits, that is the courage to succeed. This quote by Bernard Edmonds inspires me on multiple levels it encourages me to dream big & reach for the stars yet I'm the master of my own destiny & only my hard work & perseverance will help me realize my dreams.

  • What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
  • Sportsmanship for me translates to how a person must live their lives with honesty, integrity & fair play. One must accept success with gratitude & humbleness & accept defeat or failure with grace & the fire to learn, improve & excel.

  • If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
  • If i were selected as a charity ambassador i believe that we need to be the change that we expect to see so i'd like to strongly promote Organ donation there is no greater gift than the gift of life. A selfless act that can touch so many lives & bring joy & hope to people in despair.
