  • London
  • A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.
  • I personify modern Indian woman who takes care of home and at the same time living up to professional ambitions, with a sense of social responsibility. In short that’s me – Nilanjana Sinha. I am a home maker, a loved wife, a caring mother, a loving daughter, a geek, sister and a friend to people who matter and need;Born & grew up in the heart of India -- Madhya Pradesh) and married to a loving & caring husband from city of temples (Orissa). City of joy (Kolkata) gave me my first career break. I am a pragmatic yet emotionally aware person which enables me to be focused and driven for personal success, whilst making sure I have the time and resources to support the needy. Having said that I enjoy satisfying my inner self as well by spending time in dancing, painting, and playing guitar.

  • Your Achievements that makes you feel high
  • To me achievement is a continuous process of evolution and growth –all tiny milestones from school to my first pay cheque have been achievements. Right now, ensuring continuously that my career and my family life are balanced and allthe people who are around me are happy is great achievement and will continue to do so.

  • Define the true beauty.
  • I firmly believe in the age old saying that everyone is beautiful in their own unique way. I am very attracted to beautiful and kind soul that is true beauty and it transcends physical being, race and age.If one has a kindheart, two hands to give, a gesture which is polite and lips who always wear a smile, the person is beautiful.

  • What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
  • A family for me is, where everyone loves each other selflessly, available beyond time, wherewe don’t need to pretend to be perfect, where we need not to be careful before speaking, where people trust us and they have confidence on us, where we get encouragement, where we care for each other, celebrate success and support failures. A Family is not confined to parents, husband and children only, for me a family consists of the people who make my above statements true and this brings happiness followed by healthylife. Being happy is also being healthy.

  • What is your favourite Idea of Holidaying?
  • I love being with people learning about cultures and society hence I tend to gravitate to explore new places, new culture’s whilst I am equally comfortable to be in a pitched tent on a cliff top as I am in any fully boarded 5 star hotel or resort. Holidaying for me is spending quality time with people I like to be with. Company matters for me not place.

  • Why you are participating in Mrs India Earth?
  • This is my opportunity to push the boundaries and limitations I have wherein we get time boxed in our own routine and get settled into the mechanics of life, I want to push myself to strive to do something challenging and out of box as this prestigious platform of Mrs. India Earth to push myself to be a better person than I am today as this is a huge opportunity for me to make it happen.

  • What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
  • Out of many issues that haunt me, forced sexual exploitation and physical abuse women of all ages undergo in current society, which is indirectly supported by ineffective (rather old functioned) legal system in our country is a major concern. There are various things to deal with to handle this issue – reforms in education system, legal system, governmental policies, the way communities operate, moral policing, transparency in justice, media, etc.

  • The Quote or saying that encourages you?
  • “You're never given a dream without also being given the power to make it true.” ― Richard Bach, Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah

  • What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
  • Sportsmanship for me is an attitude and celebration of both success and failures while expressing oneself with self-control and discipline to treat and be treated fairly and above all the attitude of persistence – not to give up or give in to situations and circumstances.

  • If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
  • Being a Charity Ambassador, I want to work for orphan children, giving them a homely and loving environment, help in providing good education and nutrition, to turn them cultured and productive social beings. Shall come up with strategies in creating a big canvas to publicise the mission and vision of the charity, there by finding opportunities to increase the support both financially and morally – for e.g. tie up with corporate companies if needed, as most of the companies are socially responsible these days.
