• A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.

I am a 50 year old medical professional practicing medicine for past 25 years along side my doctor husband .I am a proud mother of three children 23 / 19 / 16 years of age . I am a strong, determined ,sensitive ,yet vulnerable women . For me my family comes first . I believe in paying back to society and doing all I can for a good cause .I am a deeply religious person , free spirited and very optimistic by nature . I love my profession and am a workaholic and a perfectionist where my work is concerned . At this stage of life I feel as a true achiever and a women of substance across all formats .

• Your Achievements that makes you feel high

“Great achievements are born of great sacrifices and never results of selfishness”. Thus my achievements are my beautiful children, who have turned out well and grateful. I feel they are my best contribution to the society. 1 Daughter 23 yrs , doctor in safdarjung . 2 Son 19 years medical student at Manipal . 3 son 16 years student Doon school . aspiring actor , film maker . The hospital I built is another of my proud achievements as I offer free services to my poor patients and work at my own terms and conditions . Have been elected Hon. Secretary to IMA , first all women” s team in MP state . Also I ve had the honour to act in a muscic video made by my youngest son and help him with his movie on “ save the girl child”

• Define the true beauty.

Different people have different perceptions of beauty. For me true beauty lies in all those moments that touched my soul , wheather or not they align to common beauty standards . I felt and looked most beautiful when I heared the cry of my first born daughter , when I revived my dying patient , when I lost a 100 mts race to my two boys , when I cooked a meal at break neck speed for my ever hungry kids , when I fasted during karva chauth and nearly died of hunger. Although I may not have looked physically attractive then , but felt truly and deeply beautiful. For me beauty is a lovely feeling which touches my heart and soul.

• What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?

For me a happy family is one where we enjoy , uplift and treat each other well.A happy family is one which experiences joy together , is able to lend unconditional love and support . where there is continuous and uninterrupted flow of thoughts and feelings . Where we can unwind …. For me my healthy , happy and complete family is the biggest comfort zone .At the same time my definition of family extends to my working staff as well as my close friends and not only the biological ones .

• What is your favourite Idea of Holidaying?

For me my favourite holiday is when I can get away from work with my family or friends . It could be the quite mountains , river side , or the hussle bussle of busy markets …… anywhere to just unwind with no time pressure .I could shop around the whole day , as that is something I love to do . To just laze around the whole day catching up with old friends.Ideal holiday has to be one from where I return to work after getting refreshed, renewed and healed , ready till I take another off .

• Why you are participating in Mrs India Earth?

Iam participating in this contest on the behalf of all those women who have reached middle age .Its that crucial time in a womens life when she reaches menopause and a felling of worthlessness begins to gradually creep in . I want to set an example for all of them out there that we stand even more beautiful , confident and desirable today than ever before. That we are true achievers and have given to society our best contributions in the form of our children . We are confident of having run a successful home and career.We are incomparable in terms of our experience and our grey hair , wrinkles and stretch marks , all have a story to tell . I wish to use this plateform to tell that at this stage of my life I feel truly empowered and a women of substance across all formats .

• What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?

Complete lack of empathy and erosion of human values have become phenomenal.There is a maddening persuit to accumulate wealth power and status . There is considerable increase in theft, drugs and terrorism. There is rapid increase in erosion of our morals and ethics which form the basic threadwork of our society. Our education system is churning out super achievers at a great speed but fail to produce good human beings . Our basic human values of satya , dharma , shanti, prem, ahimsa are on a rapid decline . Corruption has now become so deep seated in our system that it has now become away of life . All these need serious addressing or else our day of doom is not too far .

• The Quote or saying that encourages you?

“ IF YOUR PLAN DOES NOT WORK , CHANGE YOUR PLAN , NOT YOUR GOAL” Success may not come to us the first time or easily , so we should not be let down and keep trying till we achieve our goals .

• What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?

Acknowledging our opponent and the fact that we need them for a game is true sportsmanship. Its also the ability to take life as it comes and to able to take the good and bad , success and failure , laughter and tears all in our stride . It is a true human quality which keeps us going strong against all odds .

• If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?

I would like to stress upon the fact that a woman is born empowered and stays so throughout her life in different ways . She does not loose her worth at any stage or age and is worthy of respect throughout which only increase with time . Also I would request the middle age women to keep believing in themselves and not allow themselves to become victims of self worthlessness. Let us believe that we were good yesterday, better today and will be best tomorrow . It is this self belief that will keep us going and let us not stop believing that it is us women, around who the world revolves …… THE NUCLEUS OF EXISTANCE .
