• A Brief about yourself and how you describe your own Personality and Persona.

Dekha hai toote taron ko manjilon pe aate hue Askon se bhari aankhon ko geet gungunaate hue Khud pe yakeen hi kaafi hai jhukaane ko aasmaa Warna sunaa hai hamne kismaton ko wazood mitaate hue….. This is how I describe myself in my own words, a hard core believer of hard work. A lady in uniform, a writer, a singer, a poet, an avid reader, a fitness freak. I consider myself an amalgamation of discipline, dedication and confidence. Being a serving MNS officer life is extremely tough being around the ailing, frazzled for long hours and dealing with front line soldiers but according to me taking care of people in pain and agony is much near to godliness and that strength to carry out my job with smile, I get from my pillar of support, my husband Lt Col (Dr) Vivek Sood and my two lovely daughters. Being hailed from a defence family, sacrifices and compromises were my key words but I am thankful to my parents for imbibing me with high values of taking right decision and sanskaars to maintain my dignity and self respect and choosing me the right path above gender biasness. I chose serving humanity, I chose serving my motherland.

• Your Achievements that makes you feel high

Personal achievements per se, winning numerous prizes and awards in school and then college for studies and extracurricular activities, various titles in beauty pageants and fashion shows organized at college and later in function and shows carried out in our units and base camps always kept me on high. But secretly speaking about the real meaning of achievement I realized later in my profession when I once being into highly insurgent area, after receiving the bulk of young soldiers casualties, our team burnt his midnight oil to save them and I being the only lady officer present there, single handedly managed to rescue 18 of them. After 72 hours of untiring effort, situation was Manageable. Later I received command- in -chief commendation and medal for this so called exemplary operation, but for me, when one young soldier walking on the crutches came to say me thanks with tears in his eyes and joy on his face was real achievement and I found myself highly contended for being a cause of someone’s happiness, for sharing sorrows and for being the smiles of someone’s face and for preserving the greatest gift of god..We all call humanity.

• Define the true beauty.

For me true beauty is far beyond the skin color, a pimpled face, or scars on the skin. Beauty is divine if it carries a noble heart inside. Appearence does matter but its only a mirage and cannot be long lasting if it is negligent towards the need for others. True beauty is holistic. That’s why the world always found mother Teresa ever beautiful long after her salvation.

• What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?

I heard that a family which prays together stays together, but for me the family that eats together, the family that laughs together, the family that stays together in leaps and bounds, and the family that shares together is real family. Family is the entity that gives you courage in extreme of your weakness, strength in your lonely moments, motivation to overcome your fears and above all family is one who makes you believe that love still do exist…true to an old saying charity begins at home.

• What is your favourite Idea of Holidaying?

Holidays or vacations for me is quenching the thirst of deprivation of long awaited hours from your loved ones .it’s all about being mad and dipping yourself in the trampoline of happiness and laughter, spending time with family in sharing true moments of life, it’s all about learning something new lesson, a new ethic. A complete rejuvenation. For me it’s time to bring back “me” from huff buff, learning new hobby, screwing the string of my guitar and sing the music of life….

• Why you are participating in Mrs India Earth?

I don’t find any cause for myself for not participating in Mrs. India earth. I am having high gratitude for Mrs. India and fell in love with for uplifting the morale of each and every lady who gets up in the morning, sees herself in the mirror and says “I m beautiful”. Getting a chance to be a part of social cause and need apart from hidden desire to be acknowledged on social platform and to become a guiding light for millions of women who are still under the shades of inhibition due to some or the other reason. What else do I need? by winning the crown I want to prove that if you dare to dream, if you dare to strive and if you dare to achieve you will surely get it….by conquering the crown I want to prove that dreams do exist in reality.

• What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?

Khaamoshiyon se kahan tay hoga ye safar. Ke har mod pe nay raste mudte hai yahan. Har raat kai jakhm bharta hai koi . Har din phir naye jakm judte hai yahan. Kuch aise hi haalat hai mere watan ke… What pains me most about is complete lack of empathy of my nation towards the situation of women and dying soldiers…I m mentioning these two together because both are backbones of my country, equally humiliated, equally tortured, shattered and demanding their respect, living under the shed of fear and part of filthy politics in society. Last but not the least underprivileged farmers, pathetic health system, monster of corruption, unemployment, terrorism and addiction amongst the kids for gizmos are things to worry.

• The Quote or saying that encourages you?

“If the going gets tough, the tough gets going” has always been my “mantra” and at the back of my mind which has really been my side when I felt like quitting in extremes of my life and gave me strength to serve my country till last breath.

• What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?

Without knowing your fate at the end of game, the zeal to win, putting best of your efforts the world rejoices as the best game ever is true sportsmanship for me.

• If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?

I would like to add love and sympathy and subtract selfishness and terrorism. I believe that if your intensions are clear, god is always by your side, it will be a proud moment for me if I being a charity ambassador dedicate myself to my mother nation again. Having immense love for kids, giving orphans their share of love and need is always on my top list. Forgotten old people by loved ones, doing something for them, raising voice against women violence irrespective of their education and positions at various top posts inside the house and in the society in this pragmatic world are the real issues I will take care. It will be my continuous effort to make people realize the pain and sacrifices done by armed forces and their families far beyond the cast, creed, age, and sex and beyond the endless length of deserts, depth of sea, and height of sky. “JAI HIND”
